The role of a Gardener
Gardeners working for a Private Household would either have to be qualified
with at least one years experience or have years of experience and knowledge
of working in formal gardens.
Gardeners would need to be capable, knowledgeable and fit to maintain
gardens of various sizes. They may be required to establish vegatable
or formal gardens, yet be flexable to maintain swimming pools, Tennis courts
and general maintenance.
All gardens vary in size and duties, therefore the duties will vary from job to
job, but they should be flexible and capable at turning their hands to most tasks
involved in the garden. Whether this means dealing with the machinery, greenhouses
and the care of the lawn.
Other duties may include:

Security.

Feeding animals.

Happy about dealing with children.

Occasionally involved with running errands, which may include school runs.
Salaries
Salary would depend on if there were accommodation provided.
Live in position, in which the client is required to pay for all expenses, bar,
food and telephone costs £ 25,000 Gross/year.
Live out positions. £ 30-40,000 Gross/year.
Hourly rates are usually: £ 8-14 per hour.
